Welcome to ReturnGuard. By using our mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ReturnGuard, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

ReturnGuard provides:

• Receipt image capture and storage
• AI-powered receipt data extraction (Premium)
• Return deadline tracking and notifications
• Warranty information lookup
• Cloud synchronization across devices
• PDF export functionality
• Action item management for returns and warranties

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must be at least 13 years old to use ReturnGuard
• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• You must not share your account credentials

3.2 Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days

4. Subscription Terms (Premium)

4.1 Pricing

• Monthly: $4.99/month
• Annual: $49.99/year
• Lifetime: $149.99 one-time payment

4.2 Free Trial

• New users receive a 7-day free trial of Premium features
• You will not be charged during the trial period
• Cancel before trial ends to avoid charges
• One free trial per user

4.3 Auto-Renewal

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• You will be charged 24 hours before renewal
• Cancel anytime through your app store account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at end of current billing period

4.4 Refunds

• Refunds are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Contact the respective store for refund requests
• We do not process refunds directly
• Lifetime purchases are non-refundable after 14 days

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the app for illegal purposes
• Upload malicious content or viruses
• Attempt to hack or reverse engineer the app
• Share copyrighted material without permission
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Abuse or harass other users or support staff
• Use automated tools to access the app
• Resell or redistribute the app

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Rights

• ReturnGuard owns all rights to the app, design, and code
• Our logo, name, and branding are protected trademarks
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our app

6.2 Your Content

• You retain ownership of your receipt images and data
• You grant us license to store and process your data to provide services
• We will not sell or share your data (see Privacy Policy)

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

7.1 Service Availability

• We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
• We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
• We are not liable for service interruptions

7.2 Accuracy of Information

• AI-extracted data may contain errors - always verify important information
• Warranty information is provided for reference only
• Store policies may change - confirm with retailers before returns
• We are not responsible for missed deadlines or incorrect data

7.3 Third-Party Services

• We use third-party services (Firebase, Google AI, Perplexity)
• We are not responsible for third-party service failures
• Third-party terms and privacy policies apply

8. Limitation of Liability

IMPORTANT: To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• ReturnGuard is provided "AS IS" without warranties
• We are not liable for any damages arising from app use
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months
• We are not liable for missed return deadlines or lost receipts
• We are not liable for data loss (always keep backups)

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ReturnGuard harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the app
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

10. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms at any time
• Significant changes will be notified via email or in-app
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you don't agree to changes, stop using the app

11. Changes to Service

• We may add, modify, or remove features at any time
• We may change pricing with 30 days notice
• Existing subscriptions honor original pricing until renewal

12. Data Export and Portability

• You can export your data in PDF format anytime
• Upon account deletion, data is permanently removed
• We recommend regular exports as backups

13. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country]
